PREPARE WELL FOR DRIER MONTHS
Rarotonga is experiencing drier-than-normal conditions as a strong El Nino continues across the Pacific.
Drier conditions may continue in the months ahead, so now is the time for all of us to use water wisely and prepare.
CONSERVE WATER. FIX LEAKS. VALUE WATER.
· When it rains, harvest and store rainwater.
· Ensure animals and pets have enough drinking water available.
· Remember to turn off your taps at farms when not needed.
· When carting water, only collect from the filling stations at Rutaki and Avana.
· Only firefighting emergency vehicles may collect from the network, in an emergency.
· Do not leave open fires, unattended.
DO NOT PANIC. USE WATER WISELY.
